GM improves the fuel economy of Cruze Eco's with automatic transmissions:

http://media.gm.com/content/product/public/us/en/FuelEfficiency/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2011/Jun/0615_cruze_eco

The "...lower axle ratio..." mentioned is the result of GM replacing the current 3.87:1 automatic axle ratio with a new 3.53:1 automatic axle ratio on 2012 Cruze Eco's equipped with automatic transmissions. This new lower axle ratio is also standard on 2012 Cruze LTZ and an option on automatic 2LT models.

2012 orders have been collected since late-June, although some were more like cancellations of 2011 orders and resubmital as 2012 orders.

The GM-internal 2012 'pick list' has been available online since early July.

The "official" 2012 GM-Chevrolet website has NOT yet become active, but the 2012 model year (ML) information is now available at a button click:

http://www.chevrolet.com/cruze-compact-car/

The 2012 Cruze brochure is not listed yet, just the 2011/2010 model year brochure is available.
