While searching the web for feedbacks about the engine shield mods I came across this website:

There has been a lot of problems with the "new" electronic-controlled thermostat assembly, mostly with the gasket "seal."

But, (so far) GM has avoided making it a "Recall Issue" so people have to rely upon their dealerships to fix the problem(s).
