I finally got a recall notice for this problem. However, GM states in the letter that the parts for the fix are not yet available so they will send another notice out when they are, which will probably be another 2+ months.

My best fuel mileage to date is 35.6 mpg; that was on premium fuel and 95% highway driving. My overall average during ownership is currently at 30.5 mpg.

Just a bit of an update. I have gone back to running regular for the past 8+ fill-ups; just acquiring more data so I can better determine an average. Honestly I can't say if the premium is a benefit right now since the numbers seem to overlap quite a bit.

Yep I see where you have it, thanks Cuda. Doesn't appear to be an all-out loss of braking but rather a possible reduced braking response that requires the brakes to be pressed harder. I'll be awaiting the recall notice; something I'd like to get taken care of sooner than later.
